M4 Family

AGM (H&K Clone) 416

A solid, good looking gun with plenty of rails, this was my second AEG acquisition. AGM makes a solid body at an affordable price (if they ever sell another one) and if you can find one they make a great start to a gun project. Mine has a Modify high-speed gearset and is ready to go with either a 9.6v NiMH or 11.1v Li-Poly.

The base build has a two piece plastic hop-up, which has been finicky with some of my mid-cap magazines. My eventual plan is to replace that with a higher quality, one piece metal one, but that requires a bit of Dremel work and I haven't had the time to tackle the project.

The real problem with the AGM family of guns is that you can't get them. I've heard rumors of factory closings, company executives being executed, and warehouses of AGM AEGs being put out in the parking lot and bull-dozed. WHo knows what's really happened, but this brand of affordable but solidly built AEG's seems all but dead. If you see one and the price is right, I say buy it.
